Cintas Development Project Aims To Transform Ohio Headquarters
The Top 40 distributor also recently announced an acquisition.
Top 40 distributor Cintas (asi/162167) is planning to upgrade its corporate digs.
The Mason, OH-based company announced that it intends to transform its 43-acre campus headquarters through an ambitious development project that aims to establish a “new standard for office design.”
While still in the initial design phase, Cintas said the campus improvements are expected to include indoor spaces that allow for the ample influx of outdoor light and elements such as vegetation and natural materials. Plans call for outdoor work areas with shaded seating, landscaped gardens and work pods equipped with Wi-Fi and power outlets.
There will also be what Cintas described as “innovation hubs and creativity zones” – strategically placed locations that seek to “inspire innovation and empower employee-partners to collaborate through whiteboard-brainstorming and interactivity.”
The City of Mason is supporting the effort, joining Cintas in the development of what executives said is a “talent hub” that will allow the company to add 125 new jobs over the next five years. Cintas currently employs about 44,000 – some 1,300 of them at the Mason campus.
“We see this corporate headquarters transformation as a unique opportunity to extend our culture and values into the physical working environment,” said Cintas CEO Todd Schneider. “Our employee-partners are the lifeblood of our company – this initiative is about investing in a work environment that inspires them through seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces with the technology, flexibility and amenities to drive our business forward.”
A Kentucky Acquisition
While Cintas is a Top 40 promo distributor, the firm is primarily known for its flagship uniform and facility services business.
In February Cintas acquired SITEX, a Kentucky-based supplier of uniform and facility service programs that’s been in business since 1961. SITEX has five locations and operates in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. The Sights family of Kentucky founded the firm and owned it until the recent sale. Cintas said SITEX employees are coming aboard.
“The Sights family has grown SITEX into a strong regional provider of quality apparel and facility service solutions to their customers in the central Midwest,” said Scott Garula, president and chief operating officer of Cintas’ Rental Division. “They’ve built a successful company with a well-earned reputation for delivering outstanding customer and employee experiences. We look forward to welcoming SITEX’s customers and employees to Cintas in the coming months.”
In its fiscal year 2023, Cintas grew total company revenue 12% on an annual basis to $8.8 billion. During the first six months of the firm’s fiscal year 2024, which concluded Nov. 30, Cintas’ total company revenue tallied about $4.72 billion, an 8.7% rise compared to the fiscal 2023 half-year.
Based on estimated 2022 North American promotional product revenue of $199.1 million, Cintas ranked 16th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
