The Top 40 promo supplier has an ongoing partnership with the nonprofit.

Sweda (asi/90305), a Top 40 promotional products supplier, has donated $100,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), a charity and service organization that offers programs, support and events to veterans wounded in military actions.

Sweda CEO Jim Hagan and Kellie Claudio, senior vice president of sales and marketing, presented the donation to Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Linnington, the CEO of WWP, and wounded warrior Dan Nevins during a virtual presentation attended by the Sweda team on Feb. 1. The money will go toward supporting the WWP’s mission of honoring and empowering wounded veterans and their families.

While the last 10 months have proved challenging and unpredictable because of COVID-19, Sweda executives said there was never any doubt that the City of Industry, CA-based company would make good on its pledge to donate $100,000 to the WWP.

“2020 was absolutely the most challenging year that we all faced, but I am humbled and proud of the commitment the Sweda team and our customers have to Basecamp and what it means to Wounded Warrior Project,” said Jim Hagan.

Basecamp is a Sweda brand that’s directly tied to charitable giving. A portion of the proceeds from every Basecamp item that’s sold is donated to the WWP.

This year marks Sweda’s sixth year in charitable partnership with Dan Nevins and second year as a partner with WWP. As Sweda looks forward to another successful year as a WWP corporate partner, the company invites the promotional products industry to participate in this year’s WWP Carry Forward 5K.

“Sweda and Basecamp are proud to support WWP as they help nearly 190,000 warriors and family support members heal from the invisible and visible wounds of war and transition into civilian life,” the company said in a statement.

With reported 2019 North American promotional product revenue of $100.8 million, Sweda ranked 14th on ASI’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
