BDA Opens Distribution Center in the Netherlands
The facility aims to reduce shipping times, expedite importing and lower costs for global enterprise clients’ branded merchandise needs in the European Union.
Bensussen Deutsch & Associates is expanding its international footprint.
Woodinville, WA-based BDA (asi/137616), the fifth-largest distributor by revenue in the North American promotional products industry, has established a new distribution and fulfillment center in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The aim is to reduce shipping times, expedite importing and lower costs for its global enterprise clients’ branded merchandise needs in the European Union (EU), an economic and political bloc of 27 countries that has some of the world’s strongest national economies, including Germany and France.
Jay Deutsch, CEO/co-founder of BDA, said the new facility will empower BDA to build greater reach, relevance and scale in the EU. He noted that a Netherlands location means BDA can serve clients in the EU as one territory, without border or regulatory obstacles. That allows for lower shipping costs and quicker shipping.
“Between Brexit, the COVID pandemic and continuing supply chain slowdowns, the past few years have created new global challenges,” said Deutsch. “This strategic expansion is a result of our BDA family working tirelessly to tackle them head-on to deliver on our brand promise and enable our clients’ vision in the most efficient and economical way we can.”
BDA already has a presence in the EU in France. The company also has locations in the United Kingdom, but the UK has separated from the EU. In all, BDA has more than 70 office and fulfillment/distributor centers across the globe, including locations in the U.S., Canada, China and the Philippines.
With reported 2020 North American promo product revenue of $477.4 million, BDA ranked fifth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
