Tekweld Names Gregg Szpicek VP of Business Development
Szpicek is rejoining the Top 40 supplier, having last worked there in 2016.
Gregg Szpicek is back at Tekweld (asi/90807) in a big way.
The Top 40 promotional products supplier announced that Szpicek has rejoined the Hauppauge, NY-based company in the role of vice president of business development. His charge is to help scale growth, an initiative that will include developing strategies that spur sales.
Szpicek, a promo industry veteran, previously served as Tekweld’s vice president of sales for an approximately four-year stretch that ended in 2016.
He would later take on roles that included chief revenue officer at promo-focused venture capital firm Scalable Brands, director of strategic accounts at Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063), and senior manager of key accounts at former Top 40 company Prime Line (asi/79530), which is now part of alphabroder.
“We are thrilled to have Gregg back in the fold at Tekweld,” said CEO Scott Slade. “In this new role, Gregg will collaborate with leadership to strategically identify new channels, business opportunities, and revenue streams to further solidify Tekweld’s position as a trusted industry leader.”
Since he was last with Tekweld, Szpicek has implemented effective growth initiatives and marketing and business plans for multiple organizations in a variety of roles, executives noted. They believe he’ll do the same at Tekweld.
“Szpicek is a native New Yorker, with a vision for creative solutions and an innate ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and associates,” the company said. “He is well known and respected within the promotional products industry, and will oversee the development of Tekweld’s new channels and strategic initiatives.”
Based on reported 2021 North American promo product revenue of $40 million, Tekweld ranked 39th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry.
