Based in San Marcos, TX, Gulf Business Forms is a trade printer that specializes in custom-printed documents, including business forms, laser cut sheets, brochures, pamphlets, in-line glue booklets and variable short-run solutions. Founded in Texas in 1968, the company serves distributors nationwide.

“Gulf has been a strong competitor and leading brand throughout the country with customers spanning from California in the southwest to Massachusetts in the northeast,” said Keith Walters, CEO, chairman and president of Ennis Inc. “We are excited about adding the Gulf brand and their customers to the Ennis family.”

After Gulf Business Forms closes, its customer files, phones and emails will be relocated to Ennis’ Texas plant. Going forward, “The quoting and manufacturing facility for orders previously produced by Gulf Business Forms will be determined by customer input, product type and location to best meet their needs,” Ennis said.

In June, Ennis reported year-over-year increases in sales, earnings and profit margin in its fiscal year first quarter, which concluded May 31.

Similarly, Ennis reported in April that it increased total company revenue, net income and earnings for its full fiscal year, which concluded Feb. 28, 2022.

Ennis sells promotional products, business forms and supplies, checks and software-compatible forms, envelopes, custom business forms and presentation folders, among other items. The company was formerly a Top 40 supplier.
