Farmer Retires as CEO of Cintas
Cintas veteran Todd M. Schneider is taking over as chief executive officer.
Scott D. Farmer is calling time on his tenure as CEO of Cintas Corp., the parent company of Top 40 promotional products distributor Cintas (asi/162167).
Farmer, who has been an employee/partner at the Cincinnati-based corporation for 40 years, will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Farmer will formally retire as CEO on May 31, 2021. Long-time Cintas pro Todd M. Schneider will take over as CEO and president on June 1, 2021. Schneider will also become a director on the board, which has expanded from eight positions to nine.
Under Farmer’s leadership, Cintas’ total company revenue grew from $2.69 billion in 2003 to more than $7 billion at the end of its previous fiscal year.
“It has been a great privilege to serve as Cintas’ CEO for 18 years,” said Farmer. “The company has grown and changed significantly over that time but our core values and the culture that binds our employee-partners together has remained a steady foundation for the success Cintas has achieved.”
Farmer and the board said that Schneider is the perfect executive to take over as CEO
“Todd joined Cintas’ management trainee program right out of college in 1989,” Farmer noted. “He has held many positions over the course of 32 years. Todd has an extensive knowledge of our company, fully supports and exemplifies our culture and has served as Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer since 2018, which will ensure a seamless transition. Todd is undeniably the right person to lead Cintas to even greater success in the future.”
With estimated 2019 North American promotional product revenue of $181.4 million, Cintas ranked 13th on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
