Prior to 2020, SanMar had never manufactured a mask. Last year, as part of a federal contract, it made 250 million of them. That impressive feat is one key reason the industry’s largest supplier experienced a relatively minimal drop in sales last year – just 4.2%. In fact, earlier this year at the ASI Digital Expo, SanMar President Jeremy Lott revealed that the company seized on the Q4 gifting surge to have its best December ever. Recognized as a 2021 Best-Managed Company by The Wall Street Journal, the supplier has made sustainability a key focus, with its annual “Canvas for Good” reports and select product lines made from 100% recycled materials. SanMar is also known for robust partnerships, and the trend has continued into 2021 – the company’s 50th year in business. It began offering Next Level Apparel in January, then jumped into healthcare the following month as it added WonderWink scrubs.
