S&S Activewear Names New Chief Operations Officer
Josh Clark brings more than two decades of operational leadership experience to the Top 40 supplier.
When Josh Clark was an operations director at retailer Target, he was responsible for the running and financial performance of eight distribution centers covering 12 million square feet, with 6,000 employees and more than $20 billion in retail product shipped annually.
It’s a job, executives said, that Clark did with aplomb – just one highlight from a multi-decade career in operational leadership that compelled Top 40 promotional products supplier S&S Activewear (asi/84358) to hire him as the firm’s new chief operations officer.
“Josh’s leadership qualities and proven track record make him the right choice to lead our operations,” said S&S CEO Frank Myers, a member of Counselor’s Power 50 list of promo’s most influential people. “We are confident that Josh’s strategic vision will significantly contribute to our ongoing growth and that his leadership will shape our operations to help us deliver even more value to our customers.”
Clark’s other past roles include, most recently, being senior vice president of supply chain-category management at electrical distribution company WESCO Distribution, where he was responsible for networking capital optimization of about $3 billion in inventory.
He was also previously senior vice president of operations at Integrated Supply Network, senior director of services and procurement at industrial supply company Grainger, and vice president of operations at Keystone Automotive industries, among other roles.
In his various positions, Clark improved business processes to enhance efficiency and managed vast supply chains, implementing strategic initiatives that helped drive growth and profitability, Myers said.
AS COO of S&S, Clark will oversee all operational departments. His charge includes ensuring that S&S meets safety standards, fulfills orders accurately and delivers on time, all while strengthening the team through engagement and leadership, executives said.
“I am thrilled to join S&S and excited to contribute to its reputable legacy of market leadership,” Clark said. “I look forward to working with the talented team here to further enhance our operational capabilities and drive significant growth.”
Based on estimated 2022 North American promotional product revenue of $2.1 billion, S&S Activewear ranked second on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest suppliers in the industry. The new rankings are due out in the summer of 2024.
