Printful Integrates With Wix To Provide Print-on-Demand Fulfillment for Wix Users

The move comes as the global print-on-demand market is poised to grow at a compound annual rate of 25.3% between 2022 and 2031, reaching $45.1 billion in that latter year.

Key Takeaways

Partnership: Printful has integrated with Wix, providing Wix and Wix Studio users with a new print-on-demand solution for branded merchandise.

The Service: Wix users can customize blank merchandise with unique art, graphics and, of course, logos, all within the Wix online platform, with Printful then handling fulfillment.

Explosive Growth Predicted: The print-on-demand market is poised to grow from $6.3 billion in 2022 to $45.1 billion in 2031, according to Straits Research.

The print-on-demand momentum is continuing to grow.

Printful, an e-commerce-powered print-on-demand provider, has established a native digital integration with Wix, an Israeli-based software company that empowers users to create HTML5 websites and mobile sites using online drag-and-drop tools.

Through the integration, Wix and Wix Studio users gain direct access to Printful’s print-on-demand and drop-shipping fulfillment services, which they can use to create “high-quality branded product collections without leaving Wix,” according to the software firm.

With the solutions, the Wix users can customize blank merchandise like apparel, bags, headwear and drinkware with unique art, graphics and, of course, logos, all within the Wix online platform and without having to invest up front in inventory.

Once the Wix user customizes/personalizes the products with their designs, Printful takes over the fulfillment work, seeing to it that the actual items are printed and shipped. The companies noted that Printful has a “network of fulfillment centers” and tries to produce orders near where items are meant to be fulfilled in an effort to reduce carbon footprint.

“This integration gives our users a new opportunity to create high-quality products and merchandise customized to their brand, whether they are a yoga studio owner, a chef or a dog trainer,” said Jill Sherman, head of Suppliers Hub at Wix. “Together, we’re providing our users a unique and seamless solution that embraces creativity and brand identity while eliminating fulfillment hassles and overhead costs.”

Currently, the Printful + Wix integration offering is available only in English. The companies plan to add additional language capabilities.

“By integrating seamlessly with Wix, we’re making it even easier for entrepreneurs to provide delightful experiences for their customers.” Chris Victory, Printful

Chris Victory, head of partnerships at Printful, said that teaming up with Wix was a natural fit.

“We’ve always been committed to helping anyone, anywhere create, design and deliver high-quality, unique products that resonate with their audience,” Victory said. “By integrating seamlessly with Wix, we’re making it even easier for entrepreneurs to provide delightful experiences for their customers, directly within the platform where they already create and drive their brand experiences.”

Print-on-demand centers on producing goods only once they’ve been ordered, which allows for single or small-batch printing. Digital printing methods enabled the advent of print-on-demand in the merch space by making it cost-effective to produce single pieces.

Print-on-demand is a fast-growing medium. The Branding Together podcast, a joint venture between ASI Media and PRINTING United Alliance, recently explored the topic.

According to Straits Research, the global print-on-demand market stood at $6.3 billion in 2022. By 2031, Straits said the market will have grown to $45.1 billion, which translates to a compound annual growth rate of 25.3%.

Printful has been making notable moves of late. The firm, for instance, merged with Printify in November. At the time, the companies said the merger would combine Printful’s in-house production capabilities with Printify’s extensive network of over 85 third-party production partners, enhancing the range of products and innovative solutions available to e-commerce sellers.

Founded in 2013, Printful got its start by providing production and fulfillment services to small- and medium-sized businesses. It later expanded into serving the direct-to-consumer market and large enterprise clients. The company has scaled its own on-demand production facilities across multiple continents – including a fulfillment center in Riga, Latvia. Printful said it fulfills more than 1 million items a month.
