The Vernon Company (asi/351700), a Counselor Top 40 distributor, has renewed seven college students as scholarship winners in its annual William F. Vernon Scholarship program. Scholarship winners received a $1,000 scholarship, renewable for up to four years of their college career. The scholarship program was established in 1975 to recognize and promote intellectual achievement and to make it financially easier for qualifying students to attend college. The company has awarded more than 300 college scholarships since the program’s inception. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have a parent who is employed at The Vernon Company.
Q-Tees, available in the industry through Counselor Top 40 Sportsman Cap & Bag (asi/88877), supports AZ School, an education initiative serving children and families in a remote village near Sakhro City in Pakistan. Vastex International, a supplier of textile printing equipment and systems, has named Paul Zingone as its new director of technical marketing. Zingone has spent 14 years in sales and marketing roles at Vastex. In his new role, he’ll be tasked with marketing Vastex products to customers in 50 countries. He’ll also manage the company’s advertising and PR programs and serve as key technical adviser to the sales department.
Gildan Activewear (asi/56842), a Counselor Top 40 supplier, has been named among the most trustworthy companies in America by Newsweek. The list, developed in partnership with market research firm Statista, includes 700 companies in 23 industries.
