Logo Brands Acquires FanMats

The provider of officially licensed branded products for more than 900 colleges and sports teams said the deal expands its offerings and capabilities.

A sizeable player in the professional sports and college merch space says it has made a strategic acquisition.

Logo Brands, which manufactures officially licensed products for more than 900 colleges and professional sports teams, has purchased FanMats, the sports market licensing division of Sports Licensing Solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

FanMats sells athletics-themed rugs, mats, auto accessories and home décor, with key placements in the mass retail, home improvement and sporting goods channels. Sports Licensing Solutions has also operated in the promotional products market through SLS Image Mats (asi/87658).

A spokesperson for Logo Brands told ASI Media that it has not acquired SLS Image Mats. ASI Media has learned that SLS Image Mats intends to stop operating in the branded merchandise space.

As for the acquisition, Logo Brands said it will be integrating FanMats’ offerings into its product portfolio, thereby opening up expanded opportunities for retail partners, as well as enhanced supply chain efficiencies and increasing licensing value for leagues and universities.

“This is more than expanding our catalog – it’s about deepening the fan connection,” said Kris Talley, executive vice president of sales and licensing at Logo Brands. “FanMats complements our current pillars of tailgate, drinkware and textiles, and allows us to enter meaningful new spaces like automotive, home interiors, garage organization and fan cave environments.”

Headquartered in Franklin, TN, Logo Brands’ bread-and-butter business lies in providing an array of licensed hard good products, including drinkware, chairs, coolers, canopies, tables and coasters. The company also sells blankets, throw pillows, candles and balls, among other products.

“At Logo Brands, we’ve been the leader in licensed products that show up where fans go – at the tailgate, on the couch and on the move,” the company said. “With the acquisition of FanMats, we’re expanding that vision.”
