Following a major acquisition in 2024, S&S Canada (asi/90703) has made strategic appointments to its sales team.
The Quebec-based Canadian division of Counselor Top 40 supplier S&S Activewear (asi/84358) has promoted Craig Ryan to the newly created position of vice president of commercial for Canada and Steven Clune as national director of Canadian sales.
Ryan has been vice president of Canadian sales for Top 40 supplier alphabroder (asi/34063) since 2013, and was critical during S&S Activewear’s acquisition of alphabroder in August. In his new role, Ryan will spearhead sales strategy for the Canadian market.
“This is an exciting time for S&S Activewear in Canada,” said Ryan. “With this new structure, we are reinforcing our focus on the Canadian market and strengthening our ability to serve customers with the best products, service and support.”
Meanwhile, Clune, who will report to Ryan, will focus on expanding the company’s presence across Canada through sales initiatives. Most recently, Clune was the director of Canadian sales at S&S Activewear and had brought several years of experience as regional vice president of Ontario sales to that position.
“These investments in Canada are a great example of the benefits we’re already seeing from the S&S acquisition of alphabroder, and we expect to see similar advantages for our U.S. customers as well,” said Toby Whitmoyer, chief commercial officer at S&S Activewear. “By combining the strengths of both organizations, we’re enhancing our leadership structure, expanding our capabilities and driving greater value for our customers in this key market.”
With 2023 North American promotional product sales of more than $2.1 billion, S&S Activewear ranked second on Counselor’s most recent list of the industry’s largest suppliers. Following the company’s acquisition of alphabroder last year, ranked third on Counselor’s list, the combined companies accounted for $4.1 billion in 2023 revenue.
