BELLA + CANVAS (asi/39590) has published its first impact report, highlighting sustainability performance in 2024.

BELLA + CANVAS (asi/39590) has just released its inaugural impact report.
“This marks a foundational year where we established baselines and metrics for advancing our social and environmental progress,” said President Norm Hullinger, a member of the Counselor Power 50 list of the most influential people in promo. “The release of this report reinforces our commitment to transparency and accountability over the progress we’ve made against our key impact pillars.”
He added in the report’s intro letter that the supplier is expanding sustainability initiatives this year, with investments in renewable energy across its facilities, launching waste reduction initiatives and developing emissions reduction targets now that baseline metrics have been established.
In addition to conducting its first greenhouse gas inventory for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, the supplier highlighted its solar energy investments at two facilities (in Maryland and Nicaragua), with more than 4,000 solar panels covering 190,000 square feet of rooftops. The supplier has also planted 12,000 trees to date to support reforestation in communities where it operates.
On the product side, BELLA + CANVAS highlighted its EcoMax Tee (3001ECO), which is Global Recycled Standard certified with 100% recycled materials and uses no water in the dyeing process.
In a LCA of the environmental impact of 10 of its bestselling products, BELLA + CANVAS found that the styles produced 51% less waste during production, had a 27% smaller carbon footprint, used 30% less fossil fuel resources and required 33% less water than conventional apparel alternatives.
In an interview with Apparelist, an ASI media partner, Hullinger noted that the company “partnered with technical experts and sustainability communication specialists to review and confirm our impact data, including our greenhouse gas inventory and life cycle assessment results.”
Going forward, he added, the company will leverage its baseline data to continue meaningful sustainability impact and plans to regularly share updates on the progress it’s making.
