Brian Haner’s character permeated the promotional products distributorship he founded nearly 27 years ago.

That’s why, in part, Image Source (asi/230121) is one of only two companies to appear 13 times on Counselor’s Best Places to Work in promo – every year the list has been in existence.

The feat speaks volumes: Image Source is a place where people are happy. Where they thrive personally and professionally. Where they operate creatively and with the highest ethical standards. Where the 65 or so team members have collectively created a distributorship that generates more than $30 million annually.

All that started with CEO Haner – and it’s all part of his legacy following his untimely passing. Now, friends, family and colleagues are mourning the loss of a man Image Source described as an “inspirational leader.”

“Brian’s infectious energy, enthusiasm and dedication to helping people grow and succeed are the foundation for the company and culture that Image Source embodies today,” the Seattle-based firm said in a statement.

Haner founded Image Source in 1997, having previously worked as a general manager/vice president at a different merch firm. At Image Source, he was the CEO, and along with longtime company President Tom Goos (who joined in 1999), Haner spearheaded the firm’s ascent into an eight-figure industry powerhouse.

“Brian’s personality and spirit lit up a room,” said Goos. “He was the most positive and genuine person I have ever met. He loved connecting with people and creating lasting relationships. His friendship and leadership will be greatly missed.”

A graduate of the Pacific Lutheran University School of Business, Haner was active as a volunteer in his personal life. He was a member of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Washington and a mentor/partner in the University of Washington’s School of Business & Professional Sales Program. He was a past board member/communications chair for the booster board of Eastside Catholic High School. Haner also served as a sales and business development speaker.

“He was admired and respected by so many and will be sorely missed,” said Image Source, noting that Haner has left the firm “financially strong and well positioned to thrive and grow.”

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Junior Achievement of Washington, Haner’s family requested. Haner is survived by his mother, Beverly, and two adult children, Austin Haner and Bailey McKenzie, both of whom are employed at Image Source.

In a LinkedIn post, Austin said: “Rest in Peace to my Dad. He was an incredible and inspiring individual. Love you dad, thank you for giving me the opportunity to work at Image Source. I will make you proud.”
