The Reviews Are In: ASI Power Summit Scores A+

Tuesday October 1, 2019 | Filed under:

I count on consumer reviews when choosing where to spend my money, whether it’s for a new appliance, vacation destination, restaurant or even a new app. I urge everyone to apply the same method if they’re still on the fence about attending the ASI Power Summit, Sunday, October 27 through Tuesday, October 29 on a gorgeous island resort in San Diego county. Just read the reviews:

  • From Jo-an Lantz, president and CEO of Top 40 distributor Geiger (asi/202900): “I always look forward to attending the Power Summit. The timing is perfect as we are putting the finishing touches on our business plans and budget for the following year.  Each year, I leave with one idea or piece of information that I can incorporate into our plans. There are multiple opportunities to network, reacquaint with dear friends as well as meet someone new.”
  •  From Chris Sinclair, Brand Blvd Inc. (asi/145124): “The Power Summit included a great group of people, excellent networking and a bit of fun mixed in. There was a ton of value and takeaways in the speakers and panels.”
  •  From Kevin Walsh, Showdown Displays (asi/87188): As always, a very enjoyable and content-filled experience. Events such as these are comprised of memorable moments.”

Don’t wait too long – the 2019 ASI Power Summit is nearly sold out. To date, registration is up nearly 40% over 2018, with more prior attendees attending, citing the strength of last year’s agenda. The Who’s Who includes over 30 executives on the prestigious Counselor Power 50 list, power players like Norm Hullinger, CEO of alphabroder, the number-one supplier on the Counselor Top 40 list, with $1.6 billion in sales; HALO Branded Solutions CEO Marc Simon, the 2019 Counselor Person of the Year; Gemline Chairman/CEO Jonathan Isaacson; Sweda Senior Vice President Kellie Claudio; The Magnet Group CEO/owner Bill Korowitz, a past Counselor Person of the Year; and AIA President/CEO Matt Gresge.

If you’ve never been to a Power Summit, you’re in luck. We’re offering a special rate for Notable Newcomers, first-time attendees ready to network, master best practices and get up to speed on the most pressing topics facing the promo industry, including trade wars, cybersecurity, mergers and acquisitions, selling to Gen Z and capitalizing on foreign markets. I’m really looking forward to what promises to be an intense, on-stage supplier/distributor debate on why order errors are increasing and what the industry can and should do in response.

This year’s keynote speakers are TEDTalk motivational speaker and change agent Dan Thurmon, president of Motivation Works Inc., and Inky Johnson, who turned tragedy into triumph after a devastating football injury.

Industry panelists participating in the Power Summit include Hullinger; Debbie Abergel, executive vice president of Top 40 distributor Jack Nadel Int’l; and Chris Anderson, CEO of Top 40 supplier HUB Promotional Group.

Plus, ASI’s Counselor magazine will host a special celebratory dinner to unveil the names of the highest-ranking executives on the 2019 Power 50 list, an annual compilation of the most powerful people in promo.

There’s more: luxury golf, paddle boarding in the Pacific or a backstage, up-close visit to the world-class San Diego Zoo (my personal choice!), along with two cocktail parties, a DJ and arcade games. Riding on the success of last year’s charity Dunk Tank, which raised over $10,000, we’re also hosting a competitive Whack-A-Mole game to raise money for the San Diego Shelter to Soldier, which brings together post-9/11 combat veterans with trained rescue dogs to help the soldiers recover and move forward. Some of the dogs will even make a special appearance – a Power Summit first.

See you in San Diego!
