Tracey Barton, who leads the team of merchandisers that support Counselor Top 40 distributor Deluxe/Safeguard’s more than 200 franchises across the U.S., makes her seventh appearance on the list. Barton’s efforts enabled Deluxe/Safeguard last year to achieve its third year in a row of organic promo revenue growth – the first time the company hit that milestone in nearly three decades, Barton says – with sales up slightly to just over $140 million. It was also the third year in a row that Deluxe was named to Newsweek’s list of the Most Trustworthy Companies in America for its longtime experience in payments, data-driven marketing and promotional products. Barton acknowledges that customers’ promo budgets are facing more scrutiny, meaning that sales associates have to be creative with product solutions designed for longevity. “We recognize our customers are juggling a lot,” she notes, “and we’re focused on simplification, innovation and value.”
