After a one-year hiatus, Genumark returns to the Counselor Top 40 list by recording over 15% growth last year. The Counselor Best Place to Work spent 2025 building on its strong foundations, says CEO Mitch Freed, a member of the Counselor Power 50 list. The team tallied a record number of major RFP wins, and objectives now include a full implementation of its new ERP system, mapping out a plan for international programs, continued expansion into the U.S. market and closing deals with three new clients worth at least half a million dollars. Shipping costs and the supply chain remain challenges.

“Freight and parcel rates have been brutal across the board, and they put real pressure on landed cost for both on-demand orders and inventory programs,” says Freed. “Every distributor is feeling it and clients are really feeling it. We have to find that balance between going above and beyond to mitigate high costs while having to absorb some expenses to keep the client happy. We’re transparent with clients on what’s structural versus what we can offset.”
