Joe Simsoly’s retirement was short-lived. Two years after stepping away as CEO, the founder of Next Level Apparel returned as interim CEO following the departure of Randy Hales. This spring the interim tag was removed and Simsoly became permanent CEO, in addition to son Eric Simsolo being named president. Company revenue declined nearly 25% last year, which Simsolo attributed to general market slowdown, heavy stock at its wholesale partners and a restructuring of its supply chain. “The story this year,” Simsolo adds, “is our operational house is ready to properly service the demand of the market.”
