Counselor estimates a flat year for the e-commerce giant, which also has over 40 retail locations. On July 19, David Doctorow was named as Custom Ink’s new chief executive officer, with Marc Katz remaining as chairman. In 2023 and early 2024, Custom Ink laid off hundreds of employees and closed production facilities in Virginia, Nevada and Texas as it ended all in-house decoration. The company said in a statement to the Washington Business Journal that the shift in strategy was to “improve performance and better align the business with its tech-oriented growth strategy.” Late last year the distributor launched Swag Space, a new management platform for other distributors.
