Atlantis Headwear (asi/37380) is helping Ford drive toward a more sustainable future.
The sustainable Italian supplier partnered with German distributor cyber-Wear, part of Cybergroup International (asi/175537), to create the Ford Eco Range collection – stocked with headwear styles made entirely of low-impact materials.
Atlantis Headwear (asi/37380) worked on a multiyear project with German distributor cyber-Wear to create a line of sustainable headwear for Ford.
The project began with Atlantis conducting research into existing styles that Ford carried and recreating them with “sustainable soul” while also maintaining the identity that Ford has embodied for more than 120 years, according to Atlantis. During the design process, the supplier used preferred materials including Polylana, recycled cotton and recycled polyester to lower environmental impact and increase durability. Atlantis paid close attention to every component in the design and decoration process, using recycled buckram, woven labels made from sustainable yarn and recycled silicone patches for customization.
Atlantis called the multiyear collaboration with Ford and cyber-Wear a “stimulating, ambitious and rewarding journey.”
Each of the caps in the collection includes an ID card sharing its sustainability stats. For instance, a blue cap featuring the Ford logo in white embroidery is made of 95% recycled polyester and 5% elastane. The inside woven label is made of recycled materials. The sweatband is made of 100% recycled polyester twill, and the panels are reinforced with recycled buckram. Callout stats on the ID card note that the cap includes 52 meters of recycled thread, and the .67 kilograms of CO2 emissions were saved during cap production.
“This partnership exemplifies how sustainability and style go hand in hand,” the supplier said. “Atlantis is proud to have contributed to the sustainable merchandising vision Ford envisioned and looks forward to continuing its mission of responsible innovation.”
Over the last few years, Atlantis Headwear has taken multiple steps to improve the sustainability of its products, including joining sustainable textile certifier bluesign as a System Partner earlier this year. In 2024, Atlantis’ parent company Master Italia SpA became registered as a benefit corporation – a legal status administered by a governing body that layers on top of traditional corporate status and states a company’s intention to focus on stakeholders, rather than shareholders.
