“I urge everyone to reserve their front-row virtual seat at a live event that will deliver exactly what we all need: solid advice for doing business in a tumultuous economy, finding new markets and re-capturing clients,” said Timothy M. Andrews (@Tim_Andrews_ASI), president and chief executive officer of ASI. “Our industry experts will share firsthand experiences and hard-won insights on surviving catastrophe, adapting to seismic change, embracing technology and pivoting, rebuilding and rebranding, one step, one sale, one win at a time.”

Kicking off the half-day ASI Power Summit Live at 12 p.m. ET on October 22 is Peter Shankman, a social media rock star and entrepreneur known for launching startups and promoting radical new ways of doing business, who will share concrete steps to adapting to today’s business uncertainty. Shankman has helped transform the digital presence of numerous world-renowned brands, including American Express, NASA, Snapple, Sprint and Walt Disney World.

Additional program highlights include:

  • A frank, freewheeling conversation between ASI’s Tim Andrews and Jo-an Lantz, president and CEO of Counselor Top 40 distributor Geiger, and the 2020 Counselor Person of the Year, on disaster plans, growth areas and what’s ahead for a global company in the next 12-18 months.
  • Analysis and advice for three hard-hit areas integral to the promo industry: meetings and events, education and restaurants, including insight from Lion Circle supplier and Chicago restaurant owner Rich Carollo.
  • A technology Q&A on fortifying systems, avoiding hacks and staying connected online with Mike Knapick, CIO for the industry’s largest company, SanMar.
  • With so many workforces now working from home, digital marketing pioneer Lolita Carrico shares WFH advice, plus ways entrepreneurs can start – or jumpstart – businesses.
  • Derek Block, CEO of Counselor Top 40 distributor Touchstone, recounting the drastic steps he took to retool, refocus and rebuild his company during a crisis.
  • Chris Faris, CEO of Boost Promotions, on becoming a go-to resource in the new product category of PPE, finding new markets while growing and succeeding in today’s new normal.
  • The latest ASI market research detailing what the industry will look like in the next year, pockets of potential growth and when to expect realistic signs of recovery.

The ASI Power Summit is also interactive. Anyone registered can ask panelists questions during sessions by typing them into the on-screen Question Box, take polls and play to win prizes during trivia breaks. There will also be a special cocktail demo, complete with downloadable recipe.

The Power Summit concludes with the annual unveiling of the prestigious Counselor Power 50, an exclusive ranking that highlights the most influential movers and shakers in the promo industry. The list includes executives from distributor and supplier companies, as well as industry outsiders, who are wielding considerable power and influence in a global marketplace during a time of great economic upheaval.
