Employees of the Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI), the Norman Cohn family and generous members of the promotional products industry together raised $170,314 to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Israel impacted by the October 7 terrorist attack on their country by the militant group Hamas.
ASI and the Cohn family, which has owned ASI since 1962, pledged to match $1 for every $2 donated by other members of the promotional products industry, up to $50,000.
“Every time ASI calls on members of the promo community, whether to aid the victims of war, natural disasters or global health crisis, the response is swift and uncommonly generous,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI, the leading technology, marketing and information provider in the industry. “Our latest fund drive is another example of our collective commitment and solidarity. Together, we stand united.”
During its fund drive, ASI directed aid to three reputable organizations:
- United Hatzalah (israelrescue.org), which provides urgent, free medical aid
- IsraAID (israaid.org), a non-governmental international humanitarian aid organization
- Magen David Adom (afmda.org), Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross
Notable promo company donors to ASI’s fund drive included Logomark/Valuemark (asi/67866), Lincoln Line (asi/52710), The Pin Machine (asi/78133), A-Best (asi/100661), The Image Group (asi/230069), AAA Innovations (asi/30023), Tempo Industries (asi/90859), AIM Smarter (asi/522700), Sprinters Advertising (asi/88891), Signet (asi/326636), Custom Logos (asi/173183), ETS Express (asi/51197), Hirsch (asi/61005), Promo Shop (asi/300446) and The Vernon Company (asi/351700).
Over the past 20 years, ASI has raised more than $2 million in donations, thanks to the generosity of industry members, ASI employees and the Cohn family. Over half has gone to international causes, such as hurricane and tsunami relief and the wars in Ukraine and Israel, along with natural disaster relief in the U.S. The other half has supported local causes ASI employees are engaged in, such as services provided by the county United Way, clothing drives for those seeking employment and luggage donations for kids in the foster system. ASI also donated one million meals to Feeding America during COVID.
