Screen Printing Info in ASI's Wearables Magazine Fits Industry to a "Tee"
Apparel industry resource now offers trends, tips and techniques to screen printers
Wearables magazine, which is published 10 times a year by the Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI), announced today it now offers a new section devoted entirely to screen printing-related content called “Screen-Printing Success.” The additional content appears in the June print and online issues of the magazine.
In addition, the issue features:
- News You Can Use. Eight great ways for screen printers to get the most of their screen printing equipment and boost sales.
- Readers’ Choice. Round three of Wearables’ Top Decorator competition, which pits elite screen printers from all across the country against each other in a design challenge, with the winners voted on by readers.
- Cutting-Edge Trends. A how-to on recreating the blocky lettering decoration trend in fashion championed by top designers like Phillip Lim.
- Business-Building Tips. Equipment suggestions to expand beyond screen printing and into embroidery.
“Screen printers have long been an integral component of the Wearables community,” said Wearables Editor C.J. Mittica. “We are proud to offer stories and content that highlight the latest decoration trends, sales techniques and up-to-the-minute equipment offerings.”
Wearables is the $19.4 billion promotional products industry’s resource for promotional apparel, fabrics, colors, sizing, decoration and terminology. Each issue contains the latest news on apparel, decorating and accessories as well as sales strategies and trends. All told, 32% of Wearables’ current readers are screen printers and embroiderers.
The $60 billion U.S. screen printing industry includes over 25,000 screen printing companies, according to the Screenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association International (SGIA).
In 2012, Wearables won five editorial and design awards. Most recently, Wearables was a 2013 Jesse H. Neal Award finalist for Best Single Article for “Passing the Test,” an investigation into whether garments from industry suppliers and retail brands lived up to their performance property claims, and for Best Subject-Related Package for “Made in America,” an examination of the root causes allowing domestic apparel manufacturers to thrive here at home.
ASI publishes seven catalogs, five magazines and eight newsletters. ASI’s magazine circulation is audited and growing, and Counselor®’s top lists are now the industry standard. In less than 10 years, ASI magazines have been honored with nearly 100 journalism awards and remain the only industry publications to ever win the prestigious Neal Award.
