ASI® Launches ‘Why I Love My ASI Membership’ Contest

TREVOSE, PA – October 10, 2007 - Advertising Specialty Institute®, the largest media and marketing organization serving the advertising specialty industry, announced today that it launched the ‘Why I Love My ASI Membership’ contest.  

Twelve ASI members will each be selected at random from qualified entries to receive one free year of ASI basic membership, and a $250 American Express gift card.  Winners will also be featured in Counselor magazine and on a special Website, at www.TheNumberThatMatters.com.

“This contest came about when ASI members indicated in a recent survey that, without a doubt, they love their ASI membership because it helps them do more business,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.  “The survey proves that ASI has the number that matters in the advertising specialty industry – the ASI membership number.”

“In fact, 94% of distributors who responded said that they use the ASI number when looking for information about a supplier, and 93% of suppliers and distributors indicated that the ASI number is the number one way they identify another industry professional,” said Andrews. 

Respondents also indicated that the top five benefits of ASI membership are:  credibility, recognition, knowledge, trust and innovative solutions.

“These results are impressive, but a survey is mostly quantitative, not qualitative,” said Andrews.  “In other words, I want the stories behind our members’ success.” 

If you’re a supplier, perhaps your story is about how ASI’s 130,000 distributor salespeople increased your sales.  As a distributor, your story could be about how ESP Online’s virtual sample tool helped you win a big order.  For decorators, maybe your story explains the ways in which an ASI membership has helped you do more business with qualified distributors and suppliers.

The contest is open to all ASI members and entries must be received by November 30, 2007.
