Proforma Partners With Tampa Bay’s Tech Community

The company is finalizing plans to host future Synapse Innovation Summit Hackathons.

Top 40 distributor Proforma (asi/300094) is working with elite technological developers to benefit underserved communities in Tampa Bay, FL.

In 2018, the distributor participated in the Synapse Innovation Summit Hackathon, developed in partnership with Code for Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay Hackathon. The purpose of the event was to bring Tampa Bay’s top tech minds together to create positive change through technology. Proceeds of the Hackathon were used to benefit Metropolitan Ministries, an organization that distributes food to the homeless and impoverished.

“I welcome and celebrate our team’s involvement in any endeavor that benefits the community, expands technology and innovation around the world, and builds our corporate technology culture of innovation, education and leadership,” Vera Muzzillo, CEO of Proforma, said in a press release.

Proforma continues to host monthly Code Katas, an extension of the Hackathon, which focus on individually defined technology problems of local professionals. The company is also finalizing plans to host future Hackathons in the coming months.

“We love working hard to build the best technology solutions for our owners every day, but it is also important to give back to our local community to help protect citizens around the world,” said Brian Carothers, Proforma’s chief technology officer.

By partnering with such creative minds, Josh Young, Proforma’s application development manager, says the company gains exposure to additional technologies that can be used as tools to enhance system development in the future. “It gives our team great pride to use their talents and skills to benefit a national audience in the field of technological entrepreneurism,” Young said.

With reported 2017 North American promotional product revenue of $368.9 million, Proforma ranked fourth on Counselor’s most recent list of the largest distributors in the industry.
