Industry veteran Harold Holland, the founder of Art-Mold Products Company and a board member for several industry firms and organizations, died on March 27. He was 85.

Born in 1929 in Scranton, PA, Holland moved to New York and then to Rhode Island in 1949 to start to career in business. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Stephen Potter during the Korean War, returning home in 1954. Along with his brother Julian, Holland later founded Art-Mold Products Company in Cranston, RI. Over his industry career, Holland also was a partner at Measured Marketing Services Inc., and advised on boards at Norwood and the Specialty Advertising Association International. Holland was featured in the 50th anniversary edition of Counselor, hailed for being one of the first people to use the injection-molding method of producing plastic products, notably keytags.

Outside of work, Holland was a golf enthusiast. He played in The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic for 15 years and had six holes-in-one in his life. He holds the distinction of scoring two holes-in-one on the same hole in consecutive rounds at Ledgemont Country Club in Rehoboth, MA, in 1994 – a feat only matched by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. Holland also volunteered at Eisenhower Medical Center, where he served on several fund-raising committees and the EMC Foundation board of governors.  

Holland is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helene, children Evan, Gary and Judi, and grandchildren Aaron and Rachel. Services, burial and Shiva were held in Rancho Mirage, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Eisenhower Medical Center or to any charity of choice.
