CPSC Recalls Women’s Scarves

Online shop Yangtze Store, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has recalled 640 women’s scarves because they fail to meet the federal flammability standard for clothing textiles, posing a burn risk to consumers. Officials said no injuries have been reported and no ASI-listed firms were named in the recall.

The China-made silk scarves were exclusively sold on Amazon as “Long Georgette Silk Scarf Butterfly Print” from January 2017 to April 2018 for about $13 to $15 each. The scarves – which measure about 67 inches long and 22 inches wide – were sold in 11 different colors: black, fuchsia, light blue, green, navy, red, taupe, turquoise, pink, purple and white.

Yangtze Store is reaching out to everyone who bought scarves and urging people to stop using them immediately. For a full refund, consumers must contact Yangtze Store at (877) 861-1539 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or send an email to yangtzestore@gmail.com with “Product Recall” as the email subject. For more information, visit the shop’s website online at www.yangtzestore.com and click on the Recall Notice tab located at the bottom of the page.

Yangtze Store, based in Ontario, Canada, supplies a wide variety of scarves made with silk, polyester, wool and cotton worldwide.
