Having a positive outlook in life has proven to be a big factor in Gina Barreca’s stellar career. “I’m pretty good at celebrating life’s little victories,” says Barreca. “I’m excited when we reach consensus on a new product name, design a new trade show exhibit or get through an ambitious photo shoot day.”

As the director of marketing for Vantage Apparel (asi/93990), Barreca oversees content creation for digital and print media plus corporate communications and keeps Vantage at the top of the decorated apparel arena. Barreca says the custom aspect of the industry keeps her engaged. “I love that a polo, or any promotional item for that matter, is a blank slate for every order,” she says.

If Barreca were advising young adults considering a career in this industry, she’d tell them to go for it. Why? “It’s a high-energy, fun environment with a true sense of community rooted in professional development," she says. "You’ll work with many creative and entrepreneurial individuals willing to share their experiences and expertise.”
