Growth was modest for the Glenwood, MN-based distributor last year – just 2.5%. One reason was a major shift in PPE, from 40% of sales in 2020 to just 3% last year. Still, ASB was able to increase sales by becoming a single-source provider, says Amy Spychalla, vice president of strategic operations support. “As customer needs evolved from safety supplies to events reopening and employee recruiting/retention,” she says, “we were able to quickly pivot to provide our customers with products and solutions essential to keep their organizations safe, operational and top of mind.” The company is continuously hiring to support its 600-plus sales associates and is looking to grow this year by 5% to 10%.
