Universal Unilink Acquires Print-Focused Organization IBSA

The International Business Systems Alliance’s existing purchase contracts will add opportunities for Universal Unilink in the healthcare market, the company said.

Key Takeaways

New Market Opportunities: Promo purchasing association Universal Unilink (asi/526000) has acquired the print-focused International Business Systems Alliance (IBSA), giving the organization access to IBSA’s healthcare print contracts and group purchasing operation relationships.

Promo Expansion: IBSA members will now also benefit from Unilink’s expertise in promotional products and its supplier network.

Two print and promo member organizations are joining forces.

Universal Unilink (asi/526000), a promo purchasing association, has acquired International Business Systems Alliance (IBSA), a print-focused organization with significant relationships in the healthcare sector. Financial terms of the deal weren’t released.

IBSA has decades of experience serving the commercial print market, particularly through a variety of exclusive group purchasing organization (GPO) contracts for medical and healthcare facilities around the country. Its member companies and affiliates represent more than $450 million in annual sales, according to the alliance’s website.

Members of South Carolina-based Universal Unilink will now have access to those relationships as potential sales leads, the organization said, which was a large motivator for the acquisition.

“Their trusted position in the healthcare print space and their GPO contracts open the door for our members to expand into medical facilities – a major growth opportunity,” said Sherryl Stoner, vice president of Universal Unilink. “At the same time, we’re looking forward to supporting IBSA’s expansion into promotional products through our network of suppliers and industry expertise.”

Unilink first partnered with IBSA back in 2022 when it added dozens of IBSA members who were also selling promotional products to its ranks. The organization’s members currently include more than 2,500 independent businesses largely focused on promotional products, uniforms and laundry services.

IBSA members will be integrated into the Universal Unilink system over the next several months, Unilink said.
