ASI's Norman Cohn Shares the True Meaning of Happiness (and Success)

As always, no matter what, ASI Chairman Norman Cohn remains optimistic, thoughtful and forward-thinking. Below is his latest email to the industry, which is well worth a read.
As I consider the new year unfolding before us, I’m thinking about what could make us all happy in 2021…and I don’t just mean business success.
You will be happier and find much more joy in life by thinking positively. Don’t be afraid to express gratitude every day!
I believe the pandemic really gave us a chance to learn what is important in life. What have we learned?
- It is possible to work from home successfully.
- Technology can help us accomplish amazing things (think Zoom/Teams, among many others).
- Our industry is really resilient.
- Our team, company and ourselves are stronger than we knew.
- The power of human connection is more important than ever.
- Change doesn’t scare us, it motivates us. Plan, pivot, adapt and set new goals.
- Experience proves that uncertainty can reveal potential opportunity. Don’t just see challenges – see opportunities.
- There’s joy in appreciating essential workers who keep our lives safe and running.
- Customer service teams are integral to success.
- Our industry is a place where anyone can transform dreams into reality.
I believe 2021 will be a big improvement over 2020 and that by 2022 our industry will regain and exceed the strides we were making before the crisis.
With great gratitude, I want to thank our President and CEO Tim Andrews, and everyone at ASI, for everything they do to enable our industry to continue succeeding. It is your tomorrow ASI cares most about. May 2021 be your best year ever and bring you joy and safety.
