It won’t be quick, and it won’t be easy, but it WILL happen. Read on below for a recent email Norman sent to the promotional products industry – a post that generated the most positive feedback we’ve ever seen at ASI. My Thoughts on the Resiliency of the Promo Industry
I am 87 years old and I have been in this industry for 70 years, through many ups and downs. During that time, I have experienced floods (in our early Waterloo, IA, office building), major recessions (more frequently than you might expect), economic shocks and even other viruses. While events like World War II, the Vietnam War and 9/11 seem like distant memories to many of us, they all were shocks to our economy, families and lives. And yet we persevered through all these events.
Although the news today is discouraging and maybe even scary, I wanted to remind you that our industry has proven to be very resilient – since the 2008 recession, the industry grew much faster than the general economy. With everyone’s efforts, we will emerge from this better and stronger.
As for ASI, I am very confident in Tim Andrews and our entire leadership team guiding our business and the industry. They care about each of our members and helping your business recover and grow again.
Take care of yourselves and your families (I usually say to hug your families, but with social distancing, I will just say to take care of each other).
